150 yards is a lot of braid. If a fish is running on you for over 100 yards then your drag is too loose or you need to go up a pound test for what you're doing. And especially with bait casters, you don't really want to fill them all the way up. That will only make your rats nest's worse.

My method of lining any reel is to put too much on. Go fishing. Swear a lot as I cut away the tangles. Then I end up with the perfect amount of line.

It's an art form. I don't recommend it for everyone.

I have around 150 meters 30 pound braid above mono filler on my regulary 2000er reel on a mid heavy jigging rod between 10 to 45g throwing weight.
You need some reserve if you loose lets say 20 or 30 yards may twice a year so that fishing is still possible over the rest of the season. Even if you lose like 50% of it and your casting distance is max 50 yards on an heavy crank or jig.
But since i use silicone spray on my braid i have to admit i did not got any rat nests any more, i only tried it because soneone said it will if you spray your line after the end of any fishing trip conservate the loosing color but at least for me the line also feels like new, very smooth and soft.

I have not heard about silicone spray on braid. Interesting. I may have to try that. I bet that would be great for top water fishing, since the line should float.

I don't think that fact matters as much with heavy jigs, though.

Does the silicone spray help with casting distance too?

I don't think so but the line feels more smooth, more like new and the color stays longer.

You should try it. Just get some muffers for ear protection for the sonic boom and don't look directly into the lightning if you cast.

Anyways i booked for the next summer a guided tour with the countrys and Most likley the only target specialized Waller spinfisher for to days for 2 persons.

Look how that blank bend, Rod is a 8.10' with 7,05oz throwing weight, 5000 to 6000er reel. Teckle weight completly about 1 kg, 0.4 braid :P

I also think that and for 400 bucks for two persons for two days including eqipment rent it is worth the 200 bucks per person.

This 140 to 220 pound fish in the 6.5 + feet are one of a few fish in germany that are actually very underfished. Catting or wallern like it is named is very teckle abusing. The rods keep going but this fish smokes a 5/6000 spinning reel depending on how much you catch in one or two seasons and kill the brakes and ball-bearings. Regular heavy pike eqipment allready start to struggel on 4 to 5 feet fish and this ones may just have 30 to 50 pounds.
This men also produce his own lures only for cstfishing.
No magic about an spoon Spinner but look at that thing. A 3.52 lure is not your typical fresh water lure for spinning, more like for trolling or cod and hailbud catching.
