Hey everyone! First post on this site. I have 2 Oscars, one is a 4 inch tiger and I introduced a 3 inch tiger about 2 weeks ago. My problem is that the new guy hasn’t eaten anything since he has been here. The big one nudges him around for the first day but hey have been swimming together and getting along great. When feeding time comes, I drop a lot of pellets in to make sure he has adequate chance at the food, and it will float right by while he looks at it but he won’t even try to get a pellet. I noticed today that his color is starting to fade some, I don’t know what to do to get him to eat!

Can you find out what the new Oscar had been eating before you brought him home? Might be he's not used to pellets? Also could be a simple case of bullying, the larger Oscar sees him as a threat.
Might also help if you tell us about your setup and water parameters and how long your tank has been cycled?
BTW welcome.

He had been on Hikari Cichlid Staple at the store and that’s one of the pellets I use now, along with Cichlid Gold and Aqueon Cichlid pellets. He shows no interest in any of them. I only have a Seachem ammonia alert detector right now, I have an API freshwater master kit ordered and on the way, but my water is clear and the other oscar is thriving. My setup is a 90 gallon tank with 2 Aqueon Quietflow 75’s that push 400 gph a piece and a sponge filter.

Don't want to sound condescending but without a test kit how do you know tank is cycled? With just an ammonia alert how have you tested nitrite and nitrate?

No worries, you don’t sound condescending. The only way I know it has finished cycling is that I took a sample to PetSmart and they tested it for me and told me it had finished cycling.

I think the best way we can help is to wait for your test kit to arrive so that you can post your water parameters.
In the meantime keep up with regular water changes and add a good quality water conditioner. I'm sure other members will chime in with some advice as well.

Ok, I will post water conditions as soon as I get the test kit in. I have been doing daily water changes of about 10-15% just to try to keep the water the best possible quality and then adding Seachem Prime as well as adding some Tetra cleaning bacteria to help keep the healthy bacteria colony beefed up
