I'm new to the Oscar community my oscars have recently been getting some spots. At first I thought it was hole in the the head because they both had a spot on there head. Now they don't have dots on there head but they do have some on their sides. Only one side.

This is a pic of the worst one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

That is not really spots.... That appears to be bite marks.... They like biting each other in territorial fights and so. I believe it looks better already?

It could be a bite mark from them fighting, but that driftwood in the back looks suspicious  Sometimes Oscars can scratch themselves on decor, is there any rough or sharp things in the aquarium? It just appears to be a cut, not an infection or disease of any kind. As long as the water quality is good they should heal up nicely :)

How many fish are in the aquarium, and how big is the tank?

He seems still very young, sub adult Astronotus are clumsy as hell. This is more or less regular that they beat themself in any possible way up.

If another Oscar is in the tank he cuold be the cause of this too.

After all, this looks not that bad. The best you can do if you see something like that, do an extra 60/70% WC and you are fine. This should heal in 4 to 7 Days.
We need to stop talking about the people as if they were the crown of creation.

Looks like a scrape most likely from banging into driftwood. Most juvenile Oscars are pretty clumsy. Pristine water will help clear it up quickly. How many Oscars and what size tank do you have?
150 gallon 2x Tiger Oscars

Looks like he scraped himself or he's fighting with the other oscar over territory. keep the water clean and do water changes. He'll heal.

I second the question. How big is the tank and how many oscars?
65 gallon
2 yellow tail aceis
1 male cobue peacock
3 female cobue peacocks
1 male blood dragon
2 Synodontis lucipinnis

5.5 Gallon
Half moon Betta

The psych meter has gone from sane to insane.
