Along with the Fx4 I was going to replace the output nozzle. Unfortunately I can't figure out the hose size to do so.
What I need to know:

1. What is the Fx4 hose size?

2. Would a LOC-LINE 1/2" ROBO ARM Adjustable Dual Return Nozzle for Aquariums w/ Round Ends work? Link: www.amazon.com/LOC-LINE-Adjustable-Retur...ariums/dp/B06WP6VQZ9

3. How would I attach the nozzle if it's threaded?

Thanks for the Time. All answers will be appreciated. :)

Build one out of at least 1" PVC Elbows and if needed use a reducer piece.
Don't know for the FX4 but the 6 has a 25mm hose.

Fx4 uses the same valves and hoses as the 6. Canister itself is the same except for height. 2 baskets in the 4, 3 baskets in the 5/6. Output nozzle is slightly smaller with smaller openings. Still a 2 part exit, both tilt and swivel independently.

I know how included output is, but it's made in a 90 degree-ish shape. I want the flow to go in one direction instead of two. Although the output swivels I doubt it moves far enough. The reason the example I have has two outputs is because even though I want a decent flow, I don't want it firing across the tank.

As of the filter's height itself:

When it states the product is 16.5in tall does it include the aquastop valves?

If you reduce the Output to only one nozzle to jut one you will reduce the diameter of the opening and the outflow will become harder.
You may look for something like a spraybar?

16.5ins is including the valves. You need another inch to comfortably fit the hoses on, as the hoses connect with a limited flex rubber attachment. Then you have to consider some extra height to pull the valves off for canister removal at cleaning time. You really want 20ins to access and make everything more user friendly. Its still a fairly heavy unit full of water.
